for everyone

This collection features those pictures I'm especially proud of as I try to get better and better at digital photography.

Most if not all pictures were taken with just a Pentax Optio M20 (which only has 3x optical zoom) and any tweaking / photo optimization was done using either Picasa 2.7 or GIMP 2.4.

Your comments are more than welcome.

Great composition, Rocky. You would do more wonders if your gona be using an slr camera. =)

one step at a time, hehe. I'll practice my theories with this smaller camera first in time for the release of the Sony DSC-H50 - my next target camera, hehe.

i posted several comments, rocky. =) like you, i'm beginning to take my digital photography to the next level. you're eyeing a sony pala. not considering canon or nikon? i'm still weighing them but leaning more towards canon for my first SLR. =)

the budget lines of Canon (the Power Shots) are still okay but their current generation has been rated to lack innovation and significant improvements over the last. Their higher end cameras are still pretty good, but I doubt I'm going to be all that serious.

Thanks for the comments - very much appreciated.

nice set, wouldn't have known that they weren't taken with an slr. i'm thinking you're more inclined to take still-life pictures.

you should go straight to an slr already, you're ready for that. if you ever think of getting one for stills, go with nikon.

the achievement is partly camera-driven and partly photo editing mastery, lol, but i appreciate the compliment.

I'm still saving up for one of the budget SLRs, so it's a bit early to tell what I'll finally decide on once I have the money, but your comments will be noted.

i agree with glenn.
rocky, it's not really that "amateur"-ish anymore.hehe
beginner/newbie if you want.hehe

and i'd suggest the Nikon D40 or D40x which are considered entry-level DSLRs. esp. at their price range.

Problem with Sony i think is that they're more focused into TVs and Videos.
Nikon and Canon have been in the SLR business for quite sometime. they might not have that innovation, but they certainly have power, stability, craftsmanship, etc etc in their belts.

...just my opinion though.hehe (i'm a solid Nikon person..hehe)

I can tell, hehe. Well, it's too early to tell really since I don't have the cash on-hand (or the available credit on my card) so I'm still in the research phase. I'm generally a Sony fan for most devices and I kinda miss Minolta (which they consumed), but I'll continue to read camera reviews.

Well, it's amateur for as long as I don't have an SLR, lol, but I appreciate the semi-compliment.
